Welden Construction was founded in 1995 as a natural extension of the Welden family’s business activities. James Welden, our father, was a builder and passed down his passion for the business to his four sons, Lonnie, Darryl, Kevin and Shawn. Insisting that each son become skilled in all aspects of construction, the sons became experienced craftsmen in many areas. This knowledge of many trades has served the family of builders well. It has raised the bar for every sub-contractor engaged by Welden – the brothers know exactly what level of quality to expect – and demand. Among the various family businesses influencing the current company was a framing and siding business (with over 1000 homes framed in this area). Welden continues to provide subcontracting work which reinforces a good working relationship with subcontractors in every trade, commercial and residential, helping ensure quality, timely results on every project. Welden has built two condominium subdivisions in the Knoxville area with over 130 units in West Knoxville and a beautiful development owned and developed in the Avalon Golf community, including 36 condos and 22 residential homes. We entrust our vision with only the finest and most dependable subcontractors and oversee all of our work personally.
